In the dead of night, the troubled young couple of James Hoyt and Kristen McKay arrive at the Hoyts' secluded summer home, after attending a friend's wedding reception. Suddenly, a loud and menacing knock at the front door breaks the silence, abruptly disrupting the already tense ambience in the house, as an ominous female figure standing on the ill-lit doorstep is persistently asking for someone they don't know.
