Compliance (2012) Synopsis

Following a strange call and a preposterous accusation, Becky, an Ohio fast-food service worker, finds herself with her back to the wall on a busy Friday night. As a result, Becky and harried branch manager Sandra soon succumb to pressure, forced to obey Officer Daniels' instructions to the letter. Now, there is no turning back. And as the gruelling interrogation progresses, with Daniels' seemingly reasonable requests escalating into harassment and abuse, an all-night journey of humiliation, manipulation, and degradation begins. On the other end of the receiver, the mysterious, implacable voice demands obedience. But when will the punishment end?—Nick Riganas
